W980 selection keys and games - help needed |

Hi all,
I've done a search for these problems but couldn't find anything, so here goes...
I upgraded from my W850i to a W980 yesterday. Firstly, I'm not sure if I'm being stupid but I can't find the option to change the selection keys on the main screen. At the moment they are set to Media (left selection key), Menu (middle selection key) and Contacts (right selection key). Obviously I want to keep the middle one as Menu, but on my W850i I was able to change the left and right ones to whatever I wanted. By the way, I'm not talking about the up, down, left, right shortcuts.
Also, I copied all my games from the System/ams folder on the W850i and put them in the same place on the W980, but I can't get them to appear on the phone. Any ideas how to transfer games from one phone to the other?
Thanks very much,

Sadly those soft keys can't be changed, all part of the a200 platform. Only thing i can think of is to transfer the games to the games folder.

Copying application data from the System folder worked for me when transferring content to a bigger memory card to be used in one and the same phone, the W850i. Getting games to work in your new phone (congrats on the purchase BTW) in this way might be impossible, as I suspect some part of game data is stored in phone memory. You could try to extract it via XX+ or some similar software provided your W850i has compatible CID.
Cheers!

Thanks for the responses. Shame about the soft keys, but nevermind.
The annoying thing is that the W850i had a memory stick, but the W980 has 8GB of built-in memory and no memory stick slot, so I can't even just put the memory stick in from the old phone.
I will try using software to transfer the games like you suggest.
Thanks again! |

You could try extracting game data from the W850i (I believe there is a thread or a number of them on that subject in the software section), but for that to be of any use, the software that allows access to the phone file system must support A200 phones like the W980i and the last time I checked that was not the case.
Cheers!
