Does anyone else have this problem?

I go to Messages, Area Info, Cell Information and turn Cell Information on to display cell information/location on the phone but it doesn't work. I find if I toggle Reception (from the same Area Info menu) on or off the Cell Info appears. It disappears if I use another menu and cancel back to the main screen though.

Thanks.

Tried that on my T68i too but I can't seem to get the information displayed either, not that bothered really since the info isn't exactly useful to me.

It uses up more battery but it does work (depending on your network). Some network's do not have that facility available to their subscribers from their base stations.

Had the same problem with my late T68, seems to have something with SIM car, with some SIMs it worked, with other didn`t. Try some other SIM (older, newer)...

Think that it is network dependant and is left over from the days when networks used to discount local numbers. ie numbers that were in the same area code as you were standing in. Dunno why they used to discount like that. in the uk Cellnet (before it was btcellnet) used to do it as did vodafone. Now they dont. It still works on some phones with certain sims but is pretty useless now, other than so you know what area code you are in.
What were you hoping to use it for?
