Handwriting recognition is basically like Palm's Graffiti. It reads your pen strokes and converts it to typed characters. Ex: Write a small letter "a" on the screen, and the P800 will type out the letter "a".
T9 or predictive text is used instead of the numeric keypad on most celfones... Ex: normally, using multi-tap (the normal method of typing an SMS) to get to type the word "BACK", you have to press the following: 2 (press 2x), 2(press once), 2(press 3x), 5(press once). That's a total of 7 keystrokes. Using T9, all you have to press is 2, 2, 2, 5. Then the phone 'guesses' what you're trying to type out.
SonyEricsson has a newer method coming out (I forget the name) which works similar to MS Word's Auto-complete, the phone actually completes the word for you after the first 3 keystrokes (useless for 3-letter words or less though! hahahaha ) Similar to the 'Candidates' function on the current T68i. |

thank you so much for your extensive explaination and what i would really want is the newer version thats gonna come out. Thats very handy alot of times and too bad its not out yet.
hand recognition is ok and i dont use it so much cause it takes a while to get used to the letters and predictive is also not bad.
