I have an Italian w980 and the FM transmitter is blocked due to legal restrictions. Then I flashed it to generic european firmware and the situation is the same: transmitter is still blocked. Anybody who can use it regularly could tell me from which country he is? I'd like to flash the phone with a regional firmware which has a working FM transmitter (don't mind about T9 language). Thanks

It may be that the actual hardware is disabled physically, which sucks. But I guess its worth a try!

Mine does not work well
Barcelona, Catalonia-Spain
I have managed to make it work in a radio-alarm clock, with a terribly low sound... placing it directly ON the radio! and does not work with my HI fi system.
I'm afraid.
And that red light keeps on shining...I suposse it's normal
