Hey people,

I've just got just a few questions before I update my C902 via SEUS...

1. Does updating this way void my warranty?
2. What information will I lose? Will I lose all the preinstalled games, themes, etc.? And can I get them somewhere else?
3. Which is the best firmware out there overall..? Especially for the camera...?

Cheers,
Dion.

Hey mate. The answer to your first two questions is no. You shouldn't worry about those. And as far as I know, the latest firmware is the best, so try updating and see what it gives you!

Awesome, thanks! I'm in the middle of transferring/updating all my contacts at the moment... slightly annoying, yet rather exciting!

Well i would give you my opinion...

Updating the phone firmware won't afect the warranty if it is done with SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service).

You won't lose any data (if done with SEUS)

Latest firmware is recommended. At least in most cases.

actually the new seus updates DO wipe all your data - they appear
to be more of a full flash than an o/s firmware update !
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Ahh, thanks people - I had a feeling I had read somewhere that SEUS now erases stuff... I haven't done it yet because I've been having to work crazy shifts but I'll wait until I buy a memory card tomorrow before I do it.

Is there any way to backup the pre-installed games and themes on my PC or on a memory card to put back on afterwards?

Not sure, but I have a feeling that SEUS will put the preinstalled content back onto the phone. So you shouldn't lose that. But yeah, you might want a second opinion.

Keep everything on your memory card, and remove it from the phone during the update and you should be sweet. You may wish to back up your contacts and calendar, but your contacts should be on your sim card anyway.
