RAF Job and IT Job |

Hey,
Starting a new topic because I need new advice.
Right, I'm through to the final stage of an interview for an ICT job, the interview is next Tuesday.
Now, my first RAF interview is on the 29th Aug, so about 2 weeks away.
If I had the option , I'd want to join the RAF because I feel that has a better future and also I like the idea of maybe being shipped to different parts of the world.
So, if I was offered this ICT job, and I took it, then went to the RAF Interview the week after and decided I still wanted to join the RAF, does anyone know how long it takes from applying for the RAF to actually getting in?
Because I don't want to turn down the IT job if it's going to take me a year to get in to the RAF.
Also, if I get the IT job, am I still able to apply for the RAF and take their tests etc to try and get in, because I would be working 6 days a week, 9-5, so I'm not sure when I'd have time to go down and take the tests/interviews, which is a pain because I'd rather be in the RAF then the IT tekkie job.
Make sense?
Advice please.
Thanks

Don't let on that you would prefer the RAF (or any other job) at the first interview.
Take it as it comes and try your hardest to get the IT job. I am not sure how long a contract you will need to sign/start with the IT company, you may well just get a months trial (who knows?), a months trial sounds like it could be perfect.
The RAF interview will probably be one of the most helpful interviews you will do, I don't know much else about RAF training, I would have thought there would be a specific start date for new recruits? No?
Don't know what else to say.
Good luck with both the interviews though.

Thanks mate,
Ye I'm guessing there will be a start date for new recruits as they can't have many people joining at different times.
That's also a slight problem, I can't join untill Jan, which means I need to do something for the next 5 months.
I have a holiday booked and paid for, so can't join the RAF untill after I've done that as the basic training is 9 weeks.
But I'll mention this at the RAF interview, I'll just say that I can see myself joining the RAF and staying there for a life career, however I would like to join at the earliest date next years as I need to get my affairs in order

Surely if you do get the IT job you'll be allowed to take holidays on the days you need to sort out RAF stuff?

Dr appts, dentist, sick days etc etc (not a funeral thoiugh) always come in handy when needing to be at interviews etc |

True true, I was just worried about throwing a sickie so close to starting lol, and they already know I have a 3 week holiday booked in November, and they said it's not a problem and won't effect their final decision.
