K800i poor photos |

I recently went on a trip to North Wales with my K800i. What a big let down. Its the first time i used it for taking scenic pics and so many came out with blurring and poor focas. Im a keen photographer and my regular digital camera has broken so will be buying new one again soon. So i know how to take steady photos and how to use settings in different scenes. But i found the K800i to be pathetic. Focas was unreliable and so many photos had blurred details in corners and anything at a distance was a joke. The K800i i know is old now though mine was bought recently as a cheap upgrade but i seriously found it to be so over rated. |

Hmmm BonoVox -
I use my K800i with Raider's Driver - and its definitely an impressive piece of kit...

Well not everyone has the means to put in new drivers i would not know how to do that. Probably not worth bothering with. My last digital camera was a Panasonic whic died after many years of reliable service. But as an alternative when i could not get a new camera yet i used my phone on holiday and just found it awful when viewed on my pc screen. The auto focas on the K800 is hit and miss too never locking on on many occasions. Cant wait to rid of it. |

For some reason the k800 is very sensitive to hand shake you have to be very steady to get a sharp pic.

I am and was steady. Also took lots of photos with phone on steady hard surface with timer and still had blurring in corners and uneven focas and detail. I know you cant expect miracles from a tiny lens but i really thought the pics were going to be great. Phone has pretty new software aswell. |

My software is R8BF003080130 Silver one on O2 pay and go. Though i guess its been out so long now its not software. |

(sigh) A phone camera, no matter how many pixels, is a snapshot camera. Just don't expect too much. Under good circumstances the results can be ok. I made some nice shots with my K800, also with my G900. But I hardly ever go out on a trip without my 400D, so really, a phone cam is just a nice extra, no more than that.

Well I find the K800 pretty good phone... In fact it was my previous phone and I have been using it for some time... In my opinion the phone has good picture quality, even at night shots. So I think there might be a problem with your phone.

The k800 cam isnt that great, i would get a few blurry shots and for some reason some pics would come out misty. A modded driver improved it but not fixed it. I got my c702 now and pics are alot better no more mist or ramdom blurrying. |

I know you cant compare a phone to a dedicated compact camera but getting blurry shots in daylight even with the phone on a stable surface is poor. Even turning off auto focas did nothing. Some pics came out great even ones with me holding it. Oh well. |

Hmm. My k800 was great. At least for me. It was getting the shoths pretty cleasr even in total darkness. Modded camera driver or not it was great for me and my needs.

The worst thing about the k800 is its post-processing which is very aggressive, still the k800's cam does a pretty decent job its not far off most new 5mp cam phones it was difficult to find a phone with a better cam.
