Hello...

simple thing you may think, no quite so easy, I only use these headphones while in v quiet offices therefore they can't leak sound anywhere..... I did have a pair of Sony EX71s' and they were super I could listen to my music at any volume (of which I listen to it at what some call stupidly loud, yes, I've perforated my ear drums a few times through loud music but alas, I'll never learn) so yeah, EX71 brilliant, until they broke on me, so I buy me a new pair of Sony in ear canal jobbies, this time EX85 and my god, they are awful, they sound is better than the EX71 as I would expect in a difference of 3 years, but they leak sound like there's no tomorrow, and I can't be doing with listening to music that has to be at half volume, so in essence, I want a pair on in ear canal cans that don't leak sound.... Ideally they should be less than £100 but I can go over should something be suitable.

I don't want to go back to EX71 as I believe there have been advances in music clarity and reproduction in the last 3 years.

Please don't get confused with noise cancelling headphones, they stop noise getting in, I need to stop noise getting out...

anyone got any super bight ideas?

ta!

PS. they have to be in ear canal jobbies (they are much more inconspicuous)

HPM-70 with an extension cord?

I found they don't leak any sound at all. I would recommend these Bose ones but they do leak sound a bit on high volumes.

HPM70 are the same as EX71, and yes they are good but old now and possibly not as good sound reproduction as I'd like

Cheers though

check out a pair of head-directs RE2. dont let the funny packaging and design fool you, they have great reviews : http://www.head-direct.com/product_detail.php?p=23

if not..... try amazon uk. should be able to find good prices there. look at some shures or ultimate ears.

just got the cx500 for $149aud yesterday. expensive, since you can get cheaper from american online stores.

and there are so many fakes on ebay, so wanted to be sure. and didnt want to wait....

id say its a downgrade from my jays, but i wanted a little more bass.

seem ok so far. havent used much though

you'll find plenty of info on many iem's right there...... register and ask which would suit your needs best. they will help you. they'll also link you to the cheapest prices.

I've got a pair of CX400's and I'll deffo recommend them!
They're an authentic pair bought from BagNow through amazon.co.uk.
£31 inc. del - they're £55 in the shops!
I'm totally sure they're original, they look it, both product and packaging and the quality of the sound reproduction is excellent!

lol i got a pair of Senny's from BagNow off Amazon Marketplace too... got the CX500 titaniums, £38 del Cant fault them for sound quality, although the first thing i did was test them to see how much sound they were leaking.. and they do leak a bit when it's on max volume

You prob are best off going for something like the Shure's which expand properly when they are in your ear so no sound leaks out
