Cut a piece of simple, adeshive tape and put on rubber to avoid erosion damage. It last a few months and you have to put a new tape - not a big deal.

This is quite a huge design flaw from Ericsson. Expect from this i am VERY pleased with my HBH-30...

I saw this.. its slightly happening to my hbh30 too, wat i do is i re-insert my headset , the front facing the back of the mini carrying clip with the hbh30, close the hbh30, and leave the rubber sticking WAY out of the cover... which leaves less scratches to the hbh30
