If you're lucky, you won't need anything. I didn't bring anything when upgrading my T300. Pretty obvious I bought it within the warranty period, I guess.

If you're not lucky, you can always pay to get it upgraded.

Usually they don't ask for anything, but sometimes they ask for a proof or purchace, to know if your phone is under warrenty or not

You will loose all of you phone numbers and any pictures that are on you phone. Really its like getting a new phone. (Always plan on loosing everything anyway. What would happen if they lost your phone and had to replace it?)
Best way around the phone numbers is to copy them all to the sim card.
Hope this helps.
What phone are you upgrading?

Nothing was lost when I upgraded (T300).

Are you sure you don't have a service point close by that can actually upgrade it for you? It takes like 15-20 minutes and they can probably do it while you wait. If you e-mail SE support, they can tell you the closest location. Or, you can check SE's website.

a normal fimrware upgrade will not erase anything in your phone... but it's always best to make a backup of your phonebook before leaving it to a servicepoint....
