Good to know that... In my country, the number 8 is not that special, but the 13 is counted as "number of bad luck" and the 19 "number of stupidity, stupid number"

So then you're lucky that this kind of date will not happen with your unlucky or stupid numbers

I really really really don't get this....

All this fuss about there will never be an 08/08/08 again, but there will never be an 07/08/08 or 06/08/08 etc etc either? The number 7 is reportedly lucky worldwide, so why didn't we make this hoo-har last year on 07/07/07?? or the arabs on 05/05/05?

Really really annoys me when people say there will never be another certain date again, of course there won't it's how the bloody Gregorian calendar works...

I myself think 11/11/11 wpuld be much better, all the same numbers... and yes by the way I'm taking about 900ish years ago.... 11/11/1111 although I'm no fool, I'm well aware the Gregorian calendar came in after this date....

Yes, my sister got married yesterday (on the 8th of the 8th '08). I think her idea was that her husband would never forget that date!

And also because the number 8 is considered by many to be a lucky number.
