about Lithium ion batterys:
Li-Ion dont need to charge 24h first time (you can just use it, and then charge it, etc).
Li-Ion dont have any "memory"...which means the capacity dont changes if you charge if it full or half
Li-Ion gets "often" its full capacity when its been charged after 2-4 times
Li-Ion should not been 100% empty. (its life lenght reduce some short time. but its no major problem if you do it)
its nearly allways the old batterys like; NiMh and NiCd. (with "memory") who gets to charge in a different way. this new Li-Ion batterys works totaly different.
edit. just charge your K850 to its symbole say its ok. then its done.

K850i, and other typical se phones are using Li-Polymer battery, not Li-Ion.
Does anybody know the differences between them?

The same rules apply, don't worry.
They're basically the same (but Li-Polymer batteries are a tad better).

Well when we are at battery care, there are some resellers that tell you advices when you buy the new phone. In fact they have told me several times to first charge the battery 16 hours, and then drain it until it is totally empty. Then charge it again and etc... Told me that to repeat the cycle 3-5 times. But I think that was common for NiMH and LiION batteries, not the lithium polymer ones (which use most of the s)... Not 100% sure though.

that's right.
Also regarding the need to not let lithium batteries get low - the battery has voltage sensor that shuts the battery down just before it reaches empty so it's not possible to flatten the battery to the point that it is damaged (lithium batteries will be damaged or have a reduced life cycle if they are allowed to run until empty)
Lithium batteries should also not be trickle charged (to avoid over heating and reduction in life cycle) but again this is managed - in this case by the charger. So you can leave a lithium battery on charge all night without overcharging it (ever notice modern mobile phone chargers don't get hot when left plugged in? this is because they only charge when the battery actually needs it, unlike nimh batteries which are charging the whole time they are plugged in (which also reduces the life cycle of the battery)

Lithium Polymer battery is still Lithium-ion battery - Lithium-ion-polymer battery. |
