I don't think mine works right, I thought I used to run around 2 miles a night, so when I found out you need to run 1.5miles in the RAF fitness test I thought great, but I wanted to be sure.
So, took my pedometer out with me, and it kept saying around 1 mile or 0.5mile, and I'd been running for about 30mins, so I thought I've been doing really bad.
For example I just ran for 50mins, it says 6000 steps and 1.25mile, I thought this must be wrong because I was knackered afterwards, so I done a search on the place I reached, and then looped back round home.
Just to get there is:
Distance: 2.61 miles
So back again is the same,
So total is over 5 miles, no wonder I was warn out and thought I was doing crap, I was running over 5 miles instead of 1.5miles lol.

Use google earth to plan a route near you, and you can plot the route, so you know how far you have gone.
My pedometer was shite also, so its now in the bin.

Ooh this sounds like a good piece of software. Is it free?

I've never used a pedometer but I would assume there is some setting for your stride length, and if you are running that is likely to be more than if you are walking. Its the same things on bikes when you get a bike computer. Normally you have to enter the wheel size as bigger wheels obviously go further in 1 revolution than smaller wheels.
maybe there's a setting you missed?

www.mapmyrun.com is the best for online tracking.

Never thought to use google earth mate good idea, will have to give that a try.
Using a program on the N95 using GPS would be great, but sadly I don't have a phone with GPS lol.
Ye it has a setting to set stride, weight etc which I set the other night, but it's useless lol.
Going to look at map my run site now, thank you.
On another note, my RAF ref number came through today, and I got a call for the interview for the IT job again
