Do you still have to offer Paypal if selling anything on ebay? or have they changed it, or is there a way around it.

It was for a pal who wants to sell his car, but I have explained that he may have to offer Paypal, and he wasn't best pleased.

cheers for the info guys.

I too have boycotted ebay and PayPal. My accounts were suspended at the same time due to a security breach. I have over £300 in my PayPal account and can do nothing with it.

Paypal and ebay do not respond to my emails or are unhelpful on the phone.

As far as i am aware i have not done nothing wrong and have 250 + positive feedback on ebay.

You dont have to accept paypal when selling cars.

Frome the ebay website:

eBay requires all sellers listing on eBay.co.uk to accept PayPal in their listings with the exception of listings in the categories of cars, motorcycles, aircraft, boats, caravans, trailers, trucks (commercials), services and property categories.
Sellers who state in their listing that they accept certain payment methods must not selectively offer those payment methods to buyers or discourage buyers from using those payment methods.

This means that sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have selected in their Payment Details section of their listing, including PayPal, and must not act in any way to discourage buyers from paying by these methods.

Breaches of any part of this policy may result in a range of actions including:

*Listing cancellation
*Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
*Limits on account privileges
*Loss of PowerSeller status
*Account suspension
