something is really wrong with my k750. when i plug in charger or handsfree it recognizes them - it says portable handsfree or shows charging but nothing happens, so my phone is now unusable because i can't charge it. is this a hardware or it could be a software problem? and whatever this is can it be fixed? please help

Could be different things.
You say, the phone recognises portable handsfree and charger, but did the portable handsfree actually work ? When it works, the port might not be defective, but charger and/or batterie. How old is the battery ?
When the portable handsfree didn't work also, it could be a software problem or a defective port.
I understand, you can't test anything now, as the battery is flat.
But could you borrow a charger or a battery from someone, to check, whether they're the problem ?

when i charge the battery in a friend's fone everything is fine so it's not the battery. the handsfree as the charger is recognized but it does not work...and the fone is 2 years old and has worked perfectly so i doubt it's defective. recently i've had some problems with charging but not with the handsfree and suddenly they both got recognized but not working so i think it might be software which i think will be the better option...
any suggestions?

try taking the batt out for two minutes. If that does not help. Do a master reset.

This might be hardware but software problem aswell... So, you can try cleaning the fastport connector (as tranced said) and see then if your phone connects good with the accessories... If not flashing the phone firmware can help (to solve all software related problems only)... But keep in mind that you may kill your phone if you flash it with empty battery... So if you are flashing the phone make sure you put a fully charged battery in it.
