Problems with C702 |

Eventhough I love my C702 I have been having some problems with it...
To begin with it sort of locks up every now and then (like if I am typing an sms).
Secondly, it resets itself... Sometimes several times over, rendering it practically useless for minutes. Thirdly, if it dies out because I can't charge it because the battery empties, it wont charge, and takes forever to get it to do so. And lastly, it has several "pauses" during music playback, several in each song... Quite irritating, especially when I am out running.
Oh, and the phone tells me I have the latest firmware.
Anyone else have the same experiences? Or know how to solve them? |

I've got exactly the same problems on my C702, but the Update Service says I have the latest firmware 1204-9289 R3BA035 080521
How did you get the update, and do you know if it will be available soon?
Thanks for any info
Gavin.

Do the restarts occur randomly or whilst performing a specific operation?
The refusing to charge when flat bit is something I recognise from the P990 never really found a solution for that, sorry

The worst problem (for me) is that the phone sometimes shuts down at random, so you take it out your pocket and it has switched itself off The phone also reboots occasionally while performing a random function. Sometimes when making a phone call I lose the voice of my caller, although they can hear me. The battery life seems very poor compared to my old K800 and K750 phones, only about 2 days of light use. Lastly there 1-2 second pauses in the middle of music tracks.
I find this all very frustrating although I do really like the C702, so I would like to sort it out.
I have Vodafone R3BA035 firmware, I see DaVinci have R3CA033, R3CA037 and now one Israeli version of R3CA038. I don't know which version of the FW totalGSM are using and they don't state on their website, so I guess its Davinci.
Could anyone recommend which of these FW versions are stable and work well? I hear some people have problems with GPS and Googlemaps with some FW versions. My GPS and mapping is currently OK.
Thanks, |

Thanks for letting me know your FW versions totalGSM.
I see you've updated your website too
I'll post how I get on with the updated FW once I've tested it. |

Yep this was long time coming the firmware list on the website, many people complained so I have decided to add it.
Its a bit crampy currently, making a new website to make it more user friendly.

Of course you could go ahead with the modded fw, however one word of caution: every other update you might ever want to do on the fw will cost you money, because you most probably won't be able to use SEUS ever again.
Anyway, I've updated last week via SEUS and now have R3CA037, which seems a later fw than you've got at present?

Well the C702 is 3150 phone which flashing is not free. So be careful what you are chosing: which firmware and etc...

So I flashed it to R3CA037, which I couldn't get via SEUS (apparently Vodafone haven't released it yet, but those on other networks can get it).
The good news is that this firmware has sorted the problems with pauses in music tracks Bluetooth and GPS on Google maps also still work fine, which some users have had issues with. Time will tell if this firmware has fixed the other bugs - the random shut downs and restarts, etc... but I'm hopeful and will report back in a week or so once I've tested the phone thoroughly...
Thanks for the help and advice, especially to www.totalgsm.org for the excellent firmware flashing service and help with the procedure for a newbie
Gavin.
