Should a suit fit tight? |

Hey,
Got a few interviews and need my suit, however I've gone from waste 40 to waste 32, just tried my suit on and the trousers just fall right off so bought new ones last night.
However just put my black long sleeve shirt on, and it looks baggy, when I put my jacket on, it isn't tight, it looks a bit baggy, I'm not sure if I look stupid in it or not lol.
So, should a suit be fairly tight fit or bag a bit?
I *may* buy a new suit in the Burtons sale, not desperate to though as I got this suit from next and it cost a fair bit.

it should be fitted.. therefore snug not tight, not loose, but snug....

Just realised how sodding dirty the mirror is, any marks you see are on the mirror not me lol:
Oh, and forgive the trousers, I'm going out running in a bit, and forgive the hair it's being cut monday lmao.

If you guys think I need a new one, I'll get one of these, but how do you know what size you are?

Typically a suit should fit you well. If it is a little large it will look unprofessional and like those people you see wearing a suit jacket with a t-shirt and jeans or all baggy like those "Gangstas" with their jumpers like 5 sizes too big. Ideally it should be a perfect fit. It sounds like the issue is your jacket. Shirts you can pick up at next or whatever but the jacket can be tailored. Fairly cheap and as it is not a new suit, it looks like you wear it often, projecting the image you are from a professional environment. Worked for me! Maybe look into that to save a few £ and look the part.

definately need a new one mate!!! looks like you could be wearing 'dads' jacket!!!
if your a 32 waist, your likely to be a 38 or 40 jacket...
best bet is to give it a try though as everyones different...
should always be fitted...

Mum came home and laughed and said, "oh", and she agreed, said it looks silly and way to big.
I said the same thing, it looks like I've borrowed "dads" jacket.
Got the ole' measure out and worked it out, this one is a 42" R, I just bought a 36" S, my chest is 34", so 36" should be nice, also it's less long too which is good.

When you close your jacket you should be about an inch gap between your jacket and your body. I have to wear a suit everyday for work...i look so dapper lol. Also if its a professional business make sure you do your tie in a windsor knot.

Some of us had to use a Windsor knot at school for 6 years, so it's engrained on my mind on how to do a bloody Windsor knot....

Hopefully it is about 1-2" as my chest is 34" and the smallest they had was 36".
Though looking on the site now, the one I ordered is now out of stock, though it was in stock when I bought it, so fingers crossed.
