On my old k610i i was able to go into settings and decide which network my phone was to connect to: meaning that i was able to decide what type of network my phone should connect to, eg a 3g network or a normal gsm network...
i cannot do this with my new g900, and the 3g network is really bad in my area, so i wanted to switch it to connect to a normal gsm network instead from the same company.

To disable 3G go to Settings > Connectivity > Mobile Networks > More > GSM/3G Networks > GSM only.
Hope that it helps you.

my phone doesnt have that option, when i got to mobile networks all it shows is "select network" and "help" there is no setting to choose between 3g and gsm, this is why i asked my question, because i cant find it and i was used to doing it on my k610i

I am presuming that your phone is branded by your network then?
If it is then the only option for you that I can see is to debrand the phone, which I dont think is currently possible on a G900.

It's highly unusual for a phone to miss futures if it isn't branded. I know that mine is unbranded and I have full access to all features. I can't think of any other problems that would keep you from changing from 3g to GSM network.

You should have two tabs under 'Mobile networks and the setting for switching 3G/GSM modes is when you tap 'More' while you are on the 'Search' tab, not 'Preferred Networks'.

That's the way it is on a P1i at least.
