ok im using dBpower amp to convert my music files and there are a lot options and im confused which one is appropriate for my P1.
i have 3 mp3 codecs LAME,HELIX and Fraunhofer IIS.

and then VBR CBR ABR and free format.
which codes and setting would be appropriate?

I'd use lame - as this is the original mp3 codec, and CBR (constant bit rate) as this has the least pottential for incompatibility. You could experiment and see what works best for you, the advantage in using VBR (variable bit rate) is that it can reduce the file size. I'd never heard of ABR (average bit rate) before - seems a bit overly complicated IMO.
