Ok, apparently it is out for sale now and being an absolute memory hog that is me I'm in a very vulnerable state right now. Theoretically shouldn't the P990 support up to 32GB? Can't trust any of the current documentation since they were published before such capacity was in the market, I remember when no one was sure if it was compatible with an 8GB MSPD because the documentation only stated 'up tp 4GB'. Could this be the case again?

@Masseur
I saw it for USD140 in Singapore

So it's official then. I'm now very, very tempted, but my predicament is that it would be a total waste once X1 is finally out. Will have to sleep on it and decide

MSPD is dead, at least for current and future SE handsets and I'm sure that the m2 version will be released soon.

And since you are not planning to use your P990 for another year or two, yes, it would be a waste.

You can wait for M2 cuz it has an adaptor,so you can use it OR it might not be necessary to buy it alltogether cuz the X1 might be out.

i just bought a 2 gig mem card for my P990 (its still a work horse!) but reading this thread i feel like a should have gone for the M2 and adaptor option. the P990 still has 1 yr in it before it keels over, so its not too bad.

I recently got an 8 GB for my P990, it really adds to the functionality of the phone. However, I strongly urge you NOT to buy any OEM parts, get a Sony or Sandisk only. Some time ago I got a 4 GB MSPD (with Sony printed on it) for quite a cheap price but could never use the last 1 GB on it, always got errors after 3 GB.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

thats not correct. w810 can support 4gb (and probably larger). SE only mentioned 2gb support as that was all that was available at the time the W810 was released...
