How is the K850i now? |

I've heard of problems with the initial release, having buggy firmware and bad camera driver, so I've been holding off buying a new phone for a year. For those who have it, how is the phone now? Is it stable? How fast is it? Is the camera driver satisfactory? I've been trying to find comparisons online which include the latest driver (3.7) but couldn't find one, yet the photos from the K850i thread look so clear and sharp they might have been deceiving. Oh, and it's hard to find pictures with K850 in the low light, how bad is it?
A good camera and a decent price tag are really important for me, but I can't care less about the music capabilities. If you have other alternatives, feel free to recommend. Oh, and my current phone is an old Nokia 3660 with it's fantastic VGA camera, so I have no experience with SE phones. I wanted the N82 initially, but the hefty price tag puts me off. |

I've K850i since Jan 2008. It is really a fascinating phone. It was never bad to me and now with the latest firmware it is notably fast and stable than the previous firmwares. It is not best in camera only.... It is great in all aspects. You'll love this phone if u buy it.

I've had mine approximately nine months and it has been absolutely fine in every way except a little bit of dust in the camera until last week when the power button broke. I'm awaiting my second replacement from O2 after the first replacement was covered in scratches and marks and had a crack in it. |

i've had mine for 11 days now and it functions superbly. i upgraded the firmware to its latest version and its working fine as ever.
you should buy one!
if you're looking for an alternative, try the N82 & LG KU990 Viewty.
both has 5mp cameras w/ good flash.

I've followd SE the last 5 years or so, T630, K700, K750, K800 and now K850.
K800 is a very well working phone, however after 1.5years it got worn out, changing to a k850 which is not even close to the 800
camera sucks, flash always makes pics all white, the interface is slow, the touch buttons is slow, when playing MP3 the whole phone almost freezes making browsing or writeing SMS very hard.
also starting the camera is slow and buggy, nowdays I miss out on ALL the photo oportuneties that my k800 would have cached.
LED-light flickers some times...
playing music via blutetooth the phones often restart it self, booting with a stock heme and not the one I downloaded from here...
this is one of the first phones of the line, my brother had it for a while and I bought it from him. He is really careful with his phones and it looked brand new when I got it, so I doubt my issues are from uncareful handlning.
I would never recomend anyone to buy this phone for the simple reason that mine does not work properly.
(R1FA035 currens version on SEUS in Sweden)

I really like my K850i and I've had it since december, however I've had two big problems with it.
Firstly, Dust was getting under the glass lens protector and it wasnt just the odd bit it was loads of dust. Can anyone confirm whether or not this happens with the latest builds?
Secondly, The touch buttons stopped working so it had to go in for repair. I don't really like these buttons either. |

For those with stability problems:
1) Is your phone branded?
2) Do you often run multiple applications at once? |
