but if you hold the phone tilted on side (as i do) watchin videos or my photos you are holding the fastport so putting it on side is actually bottom.

3.5mm jack finally on W902 and W980!
They have included HPM-77 which does have 3.5mm jack.

have you ever seen HPM-70? it was released back in 2005, in case you don't know.
from my observations, sometimes it's better off not knowing.

Lol

@Hiron, 3.5 mm adapters have been standard with SE walkmans since W800.

No, they havenīt. The HPM-70 and its likes feature a 2.5 mm jack. The HPM-77 were the first with a 3.5 mm jack.

Personally i prefer them than 3.5 port. I
n 3.5 port can you have microphone on plug? or is just earphones on it?
and does quality been reduced (more noise) cause of the 3.5jack on standard fastport ?? if not then there 's no point putting it on phone, cause i've read that it takes more space to place on phone.

and W902 has a DSP onboard same as W980!!

i read it in a W980 topic... been asked right from the SE support center. they said that it has dedicated HARDWARE for the sound.

As always a walkman phone with a side fastport is something to stay well clear of

While that's not exactly true (IMO), I asked them in the live Q&A why they had changed the location of the fastport. They responded with the usual presenter babble (more comfortable, won't pop out etc., which isn't quite correct).
And they said the question was from Russia! The nerve!

Wow! The Red is Red in the photos! FINALLY. Even the C902 had the odd pinkish shot but yea, nice that they transplanted into the W series version.

Yeah K630 aka V640.

To me it looks like a cross between one of those and a V600 (I'm pretty certain I've seen a dark green version of the V600 that looked even more similar to the W902 but can't find any reference to one - it was definitely a V-series phone since it was in a Vodafone shop). Anyway I think that the W902 looks absolutely fantastic and can't wait for it to become available, although I really need a new phone sooner than later.

Yeah, I have to agree with you mate. The British Racing Green V600i:

They have a very very similar style in my opinion.

more live pics of the beauty from GSMarena:

Conclusion from GSMarena
The Sony Ericsson W902 is a great overall performer with a reasonably good camera and a state-of-the-art multimedia menu. The Walkman 3.0 music player is hardly rivaled by any other company and as a whole the user interface of the Walkman leaves only positive impressions.

However the pricing and looks also take part here and, if the price tag isn't right, the Samsung U900 Soul might just turn out to be a more tempting offer with much sleeker looks. We are also yet to see how the camera of the retail version of the W902 will compare to the one of the Soul.

SO I'm beginning to wonder why these (W595/W902) are NOT Triband HSDPA/3G ?? Their based on A2 platform if I'm not mistaken, and thus I'm curious IF the issues with A2 phones (K850i Notorious BIG & W760 now) is due to the cpu managing a Triband 3G Radio?!!!

Mizzle, Xellar, PeterKay, any car to comment?!
