To the W902 owners here:
How is the battery cover issue now? Have later batches fixed it, or is it still a hit and miss affair?

the fast port on the side is fine with me, I'd rather have it on the side rather than on the ends to make the phone longer. Reason is the phone's pretty long as it is and any more it'd get in the way when i have it in my pocket, plus its hard enough to find a case for it as it is haha.
Also I haven't had any scratches on the lens either, seems pretty safe if you keep it away from the other things in your pocket(keys, change etc...) |

hey guys,
got my w902 yesterday too- just want to let a short comment for all of u still asking urselves several questions about the display cover:
Indeed, it's really made of glass, so it seems to be quite resitant against scratches...
so far,

Are you coming from a C905 Marty?
I have both devices, look at M-R for a comparison.
The W902 is a decent device, but feels outdated compared to C905 imo, i've got one scratch on the LCD cover, so it's not a mineral glas as T650 had!
The lens cover is fine though.

I don't understand the fuss about having a FastPort on the side of a handset - I think I prefer it this way tbh. I agree it'd be nice to have a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack though.
The problem is when you put the phone in your pocket... (you can damage the port/earphones if you dont put it laid down) Having a fastport/3.5mm on the top theres no such problem.... Beside that is very unconfortable on the pocket
If you have a fastport on the bottom, the connector will eventually get damaged while walking/cycling etc so you have to buy a new headset after a while.
I used to listen a lot music on my W800 whilst cycling. I ran through 4 headsets because the motion of your leg keeps wobbling the connector up and down, so eventually you'll get to hear more and more static until your HS is dead.
But I agree though, my G900 has a fastport on the side, that's not much of an improvement either. But both are better than a 3,5 jack on top of the phone ^_^
By the way, I was thinking of maybe buying a W902... What are the major flaws this model suffers from? Speed doesn't matter, it's a lot faster than my g900 anyway |

My w902 has the usual battery cover movement but on the whole
a good phone. easy to text, good camera (and features/functions).
does occasionally reboot itself (1 a month maybe !), better sized
screen than my c902.
Think of it as a w810i "beefed up" ... :-]

My also have the battery cover movement. It does not reboot but shut down itself about 2 times a week. The button for the activity menu hangs about 4 times a week. The button works but the phones software does not respond. I did the test in the "service menu" ( > * < < * < * ) and there the button works.
I hope some new firmware will be coming soon so it maybe will be fixed. |

SE must think the phone's flawless to not have released a firmware update by now. The phone has a bunch of issues to be resolved like how typing is super duper slow when you're finding contacts or when you're in media. And how Google maps freezes causing the task manager key to malfunction, or how videos don't play smoothly when you autorotate and the long pause during transition between 2 videos which then plays with irregular speed to the point that exiting and restarting the media player is the only way to go. Not to mention the camera freezes everytime I switch from auto to twilight landscape. Oh, and while I'm at it, i hope SE would place the fastport back out of harm's way because having it on the side is just not practical. But first thing's first, fw update please!

@mode - I must be one of the lucky ones .... my w902 has none of the
issues yours seems to have with typing or video ! In fact of all the A2's
I have had this one seems to be more stable than any of them.
@HxH - I haven't missed a call yet, so it's loud enough for me :-]

Yeah, coming from a C905. Had it for a day now and really like it. The buttons are great for texting, really nice keypad compared to the C905 which was crap.
I bought a Martin Fields protector in advance so I shouldn't be having any problems with scratches.
The menus do hang now and again, but then agaon so did the C905 so I don't see it as a problem.
The battery cover is loose, but very easily solved by just getting a piece of paper, fold it back on itself and put it behind the cover. No more movement! Used the same trick on my old K810i, works a treat.
It reminds me of when I had a W810i, so I'm loving it right now. Having a walkman phone again is great, especially with music controls. It's great for the gym. However, the supplied headphones are absolute crap! Such a tinny sound, and with the bulky connector in the middle it's very awkward to use. Think I'll buy a better adaptor of ebay and get some quality headphones.
