I read about a lot of people complaining about alternative SMS tones for the Ericsson's. I don't know about the other models, but the T65 has the option to assign a ringing tone to a member in the phonebook. Whenever I receive a SMS from someone with a personalized ringing tone asigned to their name...that particular tone is used and not one of the standard ones.

Lots of ppl are really complaining about sms tone, but they are t68 users, cause it doesn't have function u mentioned. |

I had my phone upgraded yesterday with the newest firmware (ver. R6A006) and I still have the option of assigning different ringing tones to individual entries in my phonebook...and that ringing tone is used when that particuliar person sends me a SMS. I guess it's not a bug then, but a feature. Sorry to the T68 chaps out there...seems the T65 beats ya there.

Your right.It doesnt work with the t68i either.A pity.BUT it works with my se t200-successor of the t65.

The T65 shows the picture assigned to your contacts too! By the way, did you notice that on the T68 it's not possible to set a task/appointment as private/public?! I have to use my T39 or T65 to handle the calendar... That's not an improvement.

a) it does that on my t200 as well
b) I think it should not be this way - I want to know if someone is calling me or leaving a message. Thats more important for me than knowing the sender imediately
c) blue65: didn you upgrade your phone...?

Yep...I did upgrade my phone from R4B, then to R5A010 and now it has R6A006 on it. Seems most of the bugs (the way I use my phone) is sorted out now. |
