if when u connect you see a "G" sign at the signal strength bar...
at least that's how the 8310 tells if it has gprs.

its been almost 3 weeks now and still no gprs. The globe cs people keep on telling me that they will forward my request to their technical dept, they promised me that my gprs will be activated w/in the day. as of now nothing has happened. I also tried going to their business center, they also said the same thing!

You will c a 'G' sign when you have ur GPRS activated! F not try 2 configure again by sending GO(space)N6610 and then send it to 2951 wait for another day f not try to use another simcard globe when u can find the GPRS signal then its time 4 u to use dat former SIM of yours then use dat for a day or two then try use again that former SIM dat u are using! F GPRS still not working with ur first SIM then the simcard could be disabled! Its time 4 u to buy a new one!

Mine was activated after a day for my t68i/hi memory sim.The only problem was after a couple of months, still the mms is not activated after numerous followups and scripted replies frm glb cs and business center.Only good thing gprs is still free.

@dickie7, u know we are in a different situation! F u have ur GPRS activated in a nanosecond them b happy good for u! In my case i wasted 2 simcards just to have my gprs activated i thought it was the phone which is disabled until i emaile the helpdesk and told to have the # of the simcards with them and then it was found out that those sims are disabled all are hi-memory sims! I knw this case is very rare but it actualy happens!

Some guys are indeed lucky, for a friend of mine, it took a month for her GPRS to get activated, this despite of several follow-ups from Globe CS and Business Centers. :-(
