I made a backup of my contacts using SE backup manager.
Updated the phone using SE update service.
All contacts where gone, fine... youst load the backup.

BUT!

using backup manager again to restore my contacts:
program analyses and so on,
restarts the phone and says: all done

I can view the report, but the phone is still in "restore in progress" mode and thats how far i get nomatter how long i wait.

disconnecting the cable makes the phone start again, but the restore isn't made.

How is this to be done?

Try with My Phone Explorer, or just copy the contacts backup file in your phone's "other" folder, and see if the phone recognizes it's format to open it and import all contacts.

Try opening that file with PC Suite (if possible) and somehow extracting the contacts in to some phonebook or Outlook compatible file.

After some research I found that .bm3 are UIQ backup files... But I didn't find any program that supports them... If I get something, I'll let your know
