What purpose does the .dat file in ifs/settings/video serve? I just found it and was just wondering. The files name is "h263p0vr.dat. Might this be a driver for the video camera?

O ok cul, but do you get a driver that wil make it possible to watch higher quality mp4 files, I mean that recompresses the screen size so that it would fit your screen(it's obvios you can't watch a 320x240 mp4 on a 176x220 screen)

i was extracting som FS's and find out that some phones have more than one file in "ifs/settings/video" folder. from several FS's i had about 4-5 different files

can we use them if we put them in ifs/settings/video folder in our (K800 or whatever) phones??

@sitnet: well, the camdriver0.dat just make the phone to take better/worse pics and better/worse videos.

@unforgiven: those phone who have more than one is because they have a videocall camera. and i dont think you can upload another phone's video driver.

unless those phone are compatible each other.

for example, you can have the same camdriver for k750/w800/w810.

no, the files inside that folder are video codecs

If they are video codecs for real, it unlocks the possibility to put our own codecs and increase the formats supported by the phone

Or maybe add, a 320x240 resolution video recording to the K800... I think that phone can process 320x240 video 15fps at least... It has the processor power to do that imo.

Like this:

K800's processor is powerful enough to record 30fps video in it's low resolution. Tested and prooven with modded camera drivers.

Sony Ericsson smartphones can do that too, so probably they have the same video processing speed as K800

Next is the thing when you higher the resolution in smartphones to 320 x 240 their video processing power goes down to 15 fps... (it may be the camera driver limiting this though)...

So if both can process 30fps low resolution video, they should record 320 x 240 15fps with no problem, and the K800 aswell..

That's my opinion...

Me gonna try these on a w800i and I'll give feedback on the findings!!!

It works but when I start up my phone it retarts first and then starts up but anyway I can still only play 176x220 vids and 320x240 don't work.
