Hi,

I'm looking for some help- I have a problem with my K850i. When I plug it in to charge the phone makes the normal 'bing' noise and the 'optimized charging' screen appears but then it cuts out. The phone then bings again and the charging screen reappears and it does this over and over again. This mean that the battery is not being charged. I have tried it through the PC via USB but it doesn't work properly either and hardly gives it any charge.

Is this a common problem? Will a new battery solve this problem?

I got it from Phones 4 U. The first thing I did was send it off to their repair centre as it is still under warranty. The repair centre then informed me that the problem was due to 'liquid ingress' or water damage. This is rubbish as I have never spilt any water on or near this phone and it is never kept in humid conditions. After a bit of research I have found that the repair centre use this excuse all the time to people who also say thier phone has been water damaged and refuse to repair them. I therfore have to try and sort this problem myself.

Can anybody help?

Cheers.

PC charge takes longer then the standard outlet charger because of the amout of voltage a usb port give off. But assuming that both of your cables dont have a short that problem may be with your charging connector on the phone. You can try getting alcohol and a q-tip or small pice of cotton and wetting the connectors on the phone then clean it off dry. After this do the same to the charger and see if it charges. If nothing works there either a problem with a the phone connector or both usb and charging cables.

I have tried cleaning all the connectors on the phone and the chargers. I have also tried several different chargers and the problem persists. I am confident the fault is on the phone or the battery.

Has the liquid indicator turned red on your battery?

I'm not sure what you mean by liquid indicator? Is that the battery display at the top right of the screen?
