Hi All,

Just wondering (w960i):

If I plug in the USB and do a backup ticking all the boxes and then run the SEUS to update my software (thinking of trying to get the unbranded version) will I be able to restore everything back to the updated phone again?

Or what stuff would i loose?

Many thanks in advance

It will be better to use MPE (My Phone Explorer) to backup all your data. Then do the job with SEUS... After that you will be able to restore the data without problems imo.

Hi there,

Thanks for your help

I downloaded myphone explorer and it says that it cannot backup my phonebook (phone) or organiser because I have a symbian phone and this is not supported. I have a w960i - is there a different version I should be using?

Also the Back Manager seems to backup everything nicluding 3rd Party applications and phone book etc. My biggest question is whether this will restore to the phone again after a SEUS update?

Many thanks

Why not just sync your contacts to outlook or even outlook express? Also you Should be able to backup your calendar via the built in manager to the internal drive, or is this not possible on the w960?

Besides this, your backup on the pcsuite should work fine, with the possible exception of your 'unfiled inbox', my as yet unproven workaround for this is to file all the messages in your inbox to a new folder before backing up.

@ bridgstfer

After updating my phone (G900) I had no problems restoring everything via the back up manager from seus. There isn't anything missing so I don't think you should worry much.

Just a short comment regarding MyphoneExplorer:

the software is fabulous. at least, once you install the debug patch (found in the forums of the guy who wrote myphonexplorer). without the patch, no symbian.

the major advantage using myphoneexplorer is the ability to access and backup sms messages in a way that is usable on the pc.
the SE software will backup everything, but restores (especially after firmware upgrades) have been problematic, and for many (such as me) even backup doesn't work.

cheers

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say thankyou ALL for your help.

The patch worked and MPE has now backed up all my contacts. I can even move all the numbers from Mobile (h) to home in each contact so they will sync properly with o2 bluebook - absolute result!

Thanks again!
