guys, anyone know something about chatboard? it was used long time ago. on old ericsson phones. like a1018, world 1888, s868. so i think those phones have direct data input on their connectivity sockets. i looked inside the chatboard, it was just the buttons and a tiny chip.just have 4-5 pins, 5v dc, rx, tx. and should work when you connect it to a pc.

so when i connect a normal pc keyboard to my p990i directly, it should work, i think.

anyone has experience about this? i'll try it asap.
thanks.

edit: i'm at work now, i will put the chatboard and old ericsson phones pictures here. cover opened and closed.

Well if it worked on older phones, why it shouldn't work on new models. Especially the P990 (and other smartphones) are better than the non-smartphone ... It should work in my opinion.

standard bluetooth keyboards work on the P990 (and probably all the other uiq3 phones).
And by standard I mean the ones that do not need proprietry drivers when used with windows.
I think it is called HID profile of something

i tried to connect the usb pins directly to usb keyboard pins and failed of course, i'm collecting some more information and pics.

i used the wolf3d port on my p990i, while setting up controls, game is receiving the play/pause, @, jog dial and the camera buttons as F buttons(F1, F4,F6, etc.). this means uiq3 is a real operating system . so if we connect a keyboard to uiq3 correctly, it should work perfect. but the question is how to connect?

i checked out for old ericsson port pin outs,
http://pinouts.ru/CellularPho[....]/ericsson_t10-688_pinout.shtml

and the new se port pin outs,
http://pinouts.ru/CellularPho[....]/ericsson_t10-688_pinout.shtml

as you see there are differences between old and new. but if you really wanna waste a uiq3 phone, i recommend you to connect a keyboards pins paralelly to phones keyboard pins ^^
