i've realized that k850's users are waiting for a firmware which fix the problem that k850 has taking photos (i mean the colors), but it doesn't arrive
will k850 take better photos than k790/800 someday?
because i prefer k790/k800's photos

It should be. The K850 will be one of the best phones ever when it's firmware bugs get fixed imo. The same was the case with the K800/K790 when they were new. They were full of bugs too, but now look at them.

Well it takes some time to develop a whole new bug free firmware...

Strizlow, forget it. Sony Ericsson conceived the K850i in order to gain some of the 5 MP camera market. And they failed miserably, because the camera sucks at two essential tasks: reproducing RED and firing the flash. The rest of the phone is even worse with its slowness and bugs and BRODs, so I -- being a dumb ass who bought it for the camera -- can tell you that this phone is a complete failure which the network operators are already removing from their offers and people are avoiding to buy based on what they read all over the Internet about it. So SE has no interest in "making it better", the harm is done already. They will most likely concentrate on their new 5 MP and 8 MP models, because K850i is a lost cause.
K850i was the SE's most superb phone. And failure. Advanced to Android. |

Sad to hear this... But it just may be true.
Anyway I remember that the first DB2020 phones had bugs like these... You know the K800s were dying from nothing, operation failed issues and look at them today.... They are simply bug free . Do maybe the K850 will be like that some day

not this long... Sony Ericsson and there quality of the firmware is slowly going down hill. Most 's that ive owned have all had bugs during release but a year into production? Thats about the life span of the phone before people want somthing new. And now with the C702 being released they may pay less attention to the k850i. Just the other day my friend's buttons snapped in-half on his s500i. This isn't how use to be. I can remember my first phone the T68i & can't recall comming across as many bugs or any at all. And yes now phone software is more complex making it more bug prone; but just as the software becomes more innovative so should there soulutions to problems. It all boils down to the current software development team. Just like the ps3 there may be bugs in later firmwares but if they are seriouse they would have a fix for it in a matter of weeks unlike it would take months to fix somthing simple.

Well can make great phone when they want... See the K750, the K800 (later firmwares), the C905, the P1... They all are legends imo. Sadly the K850 is not with them

I totally agree with Sirhackalot and naveensiva: took them too long to fix SERIOUS bugs, while the so much praised 5 MP camera fails to deliver. That's not something to release on the market, that's something you test in your lab. Or perhaps the new strategy is to test it on the customers... hell, not only will they discover the bugs faster than any test team, but in the mean time SE makes some money! I really REALLY hope this fires back at them and hurts their future sales.
