Do you feel the same way too? I mean the only time i even use the stylus is when using the on screen keyboard, other wise it just works perfectly with fingers.

Yeah, I've been using my thumb for 90% of everything on my previous UIQ phones. W960 was probably the easiest as the screen is flush. Nowadays, G700/G900 just makes it even better.

Yeah, it works pretty good using the thumb. I use the stylus for some things, like browsing the web

I forgot when the last time I used stylus. Since P800 I used to draw characters with indexfinger nail, and most functions are working well (I mean, can be easily controlled with fingers).

Still there're annoying moments, some things are just wrongly designed like toggling BT/IRDA. I used to use finger anyway but sometimes I miss the exact checkboxes, changing wrong fields etc. Bearable, I'll live with it.

as i lost both stylus for my P1 ages ago ive been thumbing it ever since.

works well but there are a few things that are a little small so take a couple of attempts to press.

think the G900 has made the full transition to a thumb pressing device.

stylus redundant?

When I first tried to use my M600i with my thumb it was a bit difficult (I lost my stylus and had to do it this way). After recalibration the touchscreen using the setup-wizard it works perfectly now, after figuring out how to touch the screen during calibration (using only a small part of the fingertips) I now even hit small target at once (like a day in the calender chooser).

i think the jog dial is a totally stupid idea.
i have used various touch screen phones & never felt the need for/lack of a jog dial/thumb wheel. [addsig]

I agree the JD is vey useful for quick navigation, but would be more so if it were 5-way as in the P910, with the front click acting like the 'alt' key on a pc, and the back click rather than a back key, lord knows why they ditched this as you now have to reposition your thumb for both actions (menu open/back). Surely it wasn't due to the change in os as it can only be a matter of keymapping.

Well I mainly use the stylus to operate with my P1, but the fingers are also practical when you don't have need to use small objects from the menu ... Fingers are really handy when it comes the usage of the W960 walkman on my P1...

doesnt the w960 have a protection on the screen to keep fingerprints off it:)

i only use the stylus for web browsing as it can get abt tight. but i think the stylus on the w960 is the best one yet, my old phone (m600 i think) the stylus dropped out and wouldnt stay in where as this one sticks in will not move and is still quite ergernomic (sorry my spellings terrible)

Well I like the P1's stylus too... I don't know about the W960 one, but the P1's one is great to be holded in hand.
