Hi all,

For sale here I have an SO905iCS 'Cyber-shot' handset! It was purchased by myself here in Tokyo, and I am bundling some 'localised' accessories too...

It is the White/Gold variant (for some reason, they are the popular ones here in Nihon) and comes bundled with a Wall Charger, USB Data Cable, Headset and 2GB MicroSD!

It features a 2.7 inch, 16.7 Million colour BRAVIA LCD, with a 3x Optical Zoom, and VGA recording at 30 FPS!

As you all know, it is a 5.1MP Camera, with PhotoFlash LED!

To start things off, here is the 2.7 inch 16.7 million colour, Widescreen BRAVIA LCD (^-^*) showing 'Star - featuring Clive Owen, Madonna and directed by Guy Ritchie)

The face of the handset -

Main Control pad (Including 'Jog+' which we saw on the BeiBei prototypes)-

Keypad -

Rear of handset -

(May I add, a bit of trivia for you all. Minolta Co. [Wholly owned by Sony Corp] are one of the ONLY two companies to make their own Glass, the other being Nikon - Canon, Pentax, Olympus all buy their lenses as OEM's from Minolta/Nikon!)

The Camera et all -

The SO905iCS is a fully featured piece of kit, and the following should explain it nicely!

The 'Exmor Sensor' -

The Optical Zoom -

The 16.7 Million colour, 2.7 inch BRAVIA screen -

If you're not aware - you will need a HyperSIM to unlock the handset to any network!

Good luck!

@ayejatt

Unfortunately not dude - I bought the handset for my brother back in London, but left the HyperSIM for him to buy - as I bought him all the other accessories such as the wall charger, USB cable, MicroSD and headset!

Thanks for the start anyhow!

Are you interested in any trades? I've got a red W910i boxed with all accessories?

How much are HyperSIM's and where is the best place to buy one?

PS- I know internet and email won't work over here but what about MMS? I guess that's out the window too is it?

Hi MikLSP!

Hope you are well!

Email and internet will not work unless it is used on the Docomo network with a Docomo contract. I think so because the apn cannot be changed.

I know this was true for Sharp 903 and The Sony Ericsson 802 s-e

From this thread " only voice calls, media player, sms and camera work " if not used on a Japanese network with Japanese contract.

This thread also discusses the phone...

@Mik

Hey dude, thanks for your offer - but as this sale is not under my control (its my bro's phone lol) I can't accept any trades!

(I'd love to have a W910i to show off here though lol!)

Thanks again, and Ofiaich, thanks for filling in Mik! Top man!

Thanks for the info guys, real shame the data accounts cannot be setup.

As mentioned by PM, I'm going to avoid the temptation I think, cheers Sony α

Hi Sony a!

Free bumo even thought it was at the top

I think people might be interested if they knew where to buy a hyperSIM and what exactly does it do.

I think some people here are probably experts on hyperSIM's but not so many..

Where can you buy in England ? Do you lay your own sim over it? etc!

What's the highest bid so far..?

I can help with hypersim info:
The setting up is very easy, you lay it on top of your sim card, and where the chip of the hypersim is, you cut out a small corner of your sim card (nowehere near the actual chip on the sim card, so sim is completely useable in your other phones). It is an easy process and takes a few minutes. As the hypersim does make your Sim card 1mm thicker, it may be an issue putting it into phones that require you to slide the sim card in, but great if you have a Nokia that has a Sim card cover which you just flip on top.
After fitting the hypersim onto your sim card, you need to activate it in a normal mobile phone, such as a Nokia. It should then detect a signal. You then need to make a call, or send an SMS from that phone to activate the hypersim.
After that, simply put the hypersim (stuck to your sim card of course) into the japanese phone, and hey presto it works!
If you have issues of it losing signal, you may want to go into the network settings and change from automatic to manual network search.

All that said, it does sometimes have teething problems: I experienced the network loss about twice a day and had to put the sim into another phone to reactivate it.

Did that not give the SIM a big bumpy looking thing? How was it able to get into any slot?
