Hi there,

This morning I turned on my K850i I played around with it, but when I was in camera mode, I switched the little switch to play back, and to my surprise it said "No file" so I went into "My Files" and the pictures showed up. I tried to view them in the Media player but this time the screen went blank and the phone vibrated and the key pad lit up. The phone stays black until I press a button, then it goes back to normal. Then I once again went into camera mode and switched to play back. It again displayed "No file" but then it went blank, key pad lit up and it vibrated (same as in Media Player) I then tried to go back, and managed it, the camera shutter closed however the 4 blue lights to the right of the key pad (the short cut options for changing the settings) stayed on, and the light underneath the take-a-picture button too. I turned the phone off, and these came off 20 seconds later.

I tried putting in a new memory card, and when I switched to "Play Back" it froze, with the shutter open and the 4 lights on. I had to take the battery out (was worried what would happen if I did that with the shutter open)

So I am wondering what do I need to do? Reinstall firmware or flash it? (I was thinking of Flashing it to debrand it anyway...) or is there a simple quick fix?

For the history of the phone, I got it just last week, the guy I got it off said he had had it for 6 months. Don't know if that's any help...

Thanks Cormac

I hope you understand what I am going on about.

Also I have another problem, I put albums on my memory stick but they don't show up in the Media just in My Files, I never put them on using the Media Manager software CD but I don't think this matters?

Thanks

Are you sure? OK thanks, I'm not too sure about that though.

Is Da Vinci (http://davinciteam.co.uk/index.html) good? Also are there any risks when doing this?

And what's the difference between this, and say a master reset or reinstalling firmware.

Sorry I sound a bit hopeless

Thanks for the help, Cormac

reinstalling the firmware and reflashing mean the same thing. the risks are that you will loose all data not stored on the memory card and if reflashed incorrectly, you may kill the phone

i have never used DVT so cannot comment on it

:0 There is an incorrect way to do it?

And have you used another website to flash your phone?
Also, when flashing it are the ringtones deleted? Because I can't seem to move them as they don't show up on the phone memory when plugged into the computer.
