My jog dial goes potty when I scroll up but it's still ok when scrolling down. This just happened after 11 months. Any quick fixes? |

I have the same problem with my M600i. It goes haywire in both directions though. Annoying that the only way to fix it is to take it to a repair centre. |

Unless you're brave enough to take it apart yourself to bloww out the dust, Chlee did a pictorial guide to this for the P1: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=167681
Just remember - be gentle and patient, oh and try to remember how it all goes back!!
Looks like it wouln't be too hard as the jog is under the back cover which comes off first. I've never had my P1 in bits, but did it to my p990/p910 several times, and it just needs a steady hand & as I said - patience.

Thanks, that's a handy guide. However, how do you access the jog dial exactly? |

See also here for pictorials if you don't remember how it goes back together.

It would seem in the third picture that the jogdial is exposed, at least enough to be able to pick/blow any debris from it. |

P.S. Off topic question: How's your jog dial on the P1 and how much are you using it (how long too)?

Point noted, maybe user should clean the debris in jogwheel regularly. |

I took my P1i apart today and successfully cleaned my jog dial - it works perfectly now. The phone needs disassembling more than in the photos on this thread though! You need to get right down to the circuit board by removing the black middle section separating the front and back covers. The circuit board just prises out luckily and the whole jog dial is exposed, I then blew into it from all angles with a camera lens blower! As I assembled the phone I was hoping I wouldn't have to take it to bits again...
...and I didn't have to. All is well now! |

The jogdial is no more exposed in the 3rd picture than when the handset is fully assembled, trust me! You need to completely disassemble the phone to get to it, right down to the circuit board. It is easy though. |
