Where can I get the best price for a C702 in the UK, highstreet shops or somewhere else like eBay or something?

Cheapest I've seen so far is on O2's site, i.e £189.99:

Around 240 euro. Thats not too bad, the one I've found was 280 euro or 220 quid, which is just the phone, no PAYG or contract.

Yes, that O2 PAYG one in the link will be locked to the network; better to wait until Carphone Warehouse get (unlocked/sim-free) stock and get one from them instead; they might even be cheaper as well..
There are other independent retailers selling them, like Expansys, but they're currently £234.95 for a sim-free one...:

In store we're doing for it £189.99 with £10 top up, but theres a £40 trade in off your old phone, making it £149.99, best price by far.

nice, and by store you mean CPW? And old phone can be any old phone? I have quite a few as most users here, just the phone will do, cuz I have no boxes or manuals or anything. Also if you work in above mentioned shop, can you confirm all PAYG phones comes unbranden both phone and software and unlocked? |

By instore I mean O2, I wouldn't work for CPW
And any old phone, provided it turns on, still works and the screen is not cracked. Plus, it cant be missing things like the battery cover etc.
And no, ours are locked and slightly branded, but not heavily.

Ohh sorry I heard O2 does not brand the phone itself but just the software, which should be easy to get rid of with a flash I guess.. CPW seems very nice if they really don't touch the phones and sell you a normal retail phone for PAYG prices |

They sell you vanilla phones (unlocked, unbranded and unbadged) because they sell all networks and it's cheaper for them to buy them all from the manufacturer in bulk than it is in smaller volumes from the network (which would be locked/branded etc).
But I booted a C702 up on pay as you go yesterday for a customer, and I didn't really see any branding besides the start up screen/shut down screen.
Very nice phone though, really nice and solid. I'd get one if I had the money

Hope the 'Cool Cyan' colour C702 option becomes widely available here as well, i.e. not just through independent retailers like Mobilefun, Expansys, Mphone etc.

Here is something that may put you off buying one from O2
http://customerforum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2011
Seems as though O2 have removed google maps and the standard app you download from google does not recognise the internal GPS. |

Hrm, it is not possible to download some maps + navigation software? Google Maps is nice but if it needs to constantly download the maps it is pretty useless even with `unlimited` internet. I'd like to get something such as TomTom on the phone and do without any data transfers, just the phone + maps should be enough isn't it? |

Thats true, i noticed it doesnt have google maps, just geo tagging and tracker and thats about it.
I figured it was just the W760 and other GPS-heavy phones that would come with the software for it, seems not.

That's extremely disappointing.
Further reason to wait for CPW to get stock then, methinks..

For the O2 phones they've removed google maps, though you can add it (however it then doesn't allow goemapping). Since CPW seem to source phones from a non-network specific supplier, then getting the phones there seems to be a good option - however although CPw-online list it I went into a store today and they didn't have the phone and could only tell me its expected "soon".
I haven't seen any flash programs for the c702 yet. I'd be interested if anyone else could name any that work. |
