Hi, so i'm developing my first j2me game. I'm testing on my k850 and using jp-8 to compile it. However, i got a friend to try it on their w850 and he said it said "operation failed" on installation, i am assuming this is because i compiled it with JP-8 rather than JP-7.

So i know JP-8 offers me more classes/features i can use, but if i don't use these (i can compile the game in jp-7 fine) will there be any disadvantages to the JP-8 phone users if i do so (apart from not being able to use the 3rd softkey)?

I'm sure i read somewhere something about jp-8 devices offering better png support, i use png files, but would compiling in jp7 effect this? Basically is it worth me compiling two versions one in jp-7 and one in jp-8 and releasing both or should i just compile it in JP-7?

Also, is there any list anywhere listing what phones are jp-8 and which are jp-7?

Thanks

NB: JP stands for java platform

Edit: Ignore this, i'm referring to MIDP 2.1 and 2.0 rather than JP's
