Hi..... I just recently got my w810i flashed, and everything seems to be working normal, except for the 'E' logo on the screen..... The same logo that we get while accessing internet via mobile.... Can anyone please tell me if this is normal, or if not, then what can be done to remove it??? |

Its normal. Its just the phone constantly looking for an EDGE signal. You can disable it by going to settings->connectivity->data comm -> preferred service -> CS only. It should save some battery life too. |

E appears when youre in a EDGE area.
@shreyans: it wont damage the phone. it will just active the EDGE/GPRS when it needs to be needed.

right
you will either get the E(where's EDGE coverage) or the G(where's GPRS coverage).

flashed/debranded doesnt mean it was unlocked. if your phone's locked to a specific network, it will only work with that network.

There is no reason NOT to do that. Why do you need your phone to constantly look for and be connected to EDGE when you're not using the internet? When you switch to CS only, it turns that feature off, and only activates the EDGE signal when you want to use the internet. It saves some battery by doing that, too. |

You can have CS only, it wouldn't harm you. In fact, you will get slightly longer battery life. The only drawback is that when you do need to connect to the Internet it will take a couple of seconds longer to connect.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

correct . And when we are at E symbol, it does not seem to be anoying to me, but I hate the 3g icon... really... not because of it's look, because it's position where it is placed when 3g coverage is available
