I'm thinking of buying a Sandisk 8GB M2 card for my S500i so that I can finally put some music on it, but does anyone know if the phone will actually support this much memory?

I mean, has anyone tried it? I've read a lot about people who say 4GB cards work fine, even when the spec. says it only supports 2GB, but I can't find anything about anyone actually successfully using an 8GB M2 card in their SE S500i.

So, anyone tried it?

As far as I know the 4gb and 8gb cards have the same filesystem... So if 4gb cards are supported, then there is no reason why it wouldn't work with 8gb ones...

I've also heard that the 8 GB cards are slower, but a lot of people refute this. To me it wouldn't really make much sense that they're slower unless the way the phone indexes files is really shitty and doesn't scale well.
