Well unfortuantely with petrol prices looking like they're going to stick for a while, i've decided to sell my 2.5ltr BMW and go for something at the other end of the scale... a Smart Car.

My mum drives one and loves it and not only that i didn't realise road tax is only £35 a year!!! (I'm paying £200) I'm paying £25 every week and half in petrol, £30 lasts my mum a whole month lol, and insurance is nearly £30p/m cheaper too.

So what I want to know is, does anyone else have a Smart Car and what do you think of them? Hopefully (keep your fingers crossed that I win the ebay auction) I pick it up on Sat

Will upload pics if I get it.

It's ok, Granmother has one.

Well... it can stand up to a front impact from a wrecking ball.

+ you service them at Mercedes Benz, so I'd imagine they come with the 30 years corrosion warranty and roadside assistance like regular Mercs... Yep, THIRTY years.

Have you seen the video where Quentin Wilson drives it (remotely) into a concrete wall at 100mph? Pretty amazing stuff. You can still open both doors lol.

I wouldnt mind one myself, but the fact it has such a small engine puts me off. I don't want the speed, but like to feel a certain amount of responsiveness in a car, I think it would lack this...
Check out my sales

My wife had one and loved it, I drove it a few times and it was good fun to drive!

Actually, it's for sale still if you want it, PM me if you do for more details!

Hahaha!
No.

The Brabus turbo model is quite good from what I read.
Bit toy-like for me, but I can understand the attraction.

Either the Smart, or look at the Panda, or if you don't want to lose some of the cred from your BMW, the Smart Roadster and Smart Coupe offer similar MPG and tax etc to the standard smart but are far faster and cooler
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for.
