You are kidding aren't you?!?!?!?!
Oh dear, they're really showing their arrogance there. I gave up buying and selling on ebay altogether out of protest because of bloody paypal disputes. If they start forcing people to use it then I dare say that a lot more'll go too!

lol yes they can, and very easily. Their website, their company, their rules, law doesn't come into it...

Like they care, their rolling in it, their hardly going to go bankrupt over the 2% of people who don't use PayPal.
Personally, although I find it annoying selling with Paypal, I wouldn't feel safe buying without it. Plus cheque and postal order takes forever.

I cancelled mine due to a couple of people I know getting their accounts hacked, so there is no way, I am going to open a new account, just to sell on ebay.

O jesus, you just hit upon a big issue for me.
eBay - the decline of a good thing.
I hate the fact that on pretty much all expensive and premium electronics they make you accept only paypal. I want to use google checkout, its just as easy, fast and safe, but no. I have to use their shit system that takes 3.4% of my funds received. Why? I as a seller have no protection. I myself have lost over £500 to paypal because they don't protect sellers. And I actually have to pay for this shoddy system that has been so well implemented into ebay for the lone reason that ebay own it. Now I reserve 10% of my total value for ebay/paypal. I don't mind paying about 3% to ebay as it is a great method of getting product awareness, but fail to see why I should pay for something I don't want to use?
Another thing that has really pissed me off is this new shoddy feedback. Of a seller of close to 1900 individual transactions I feel that my feedback has been totally discredited and devalued. Now anyone can have 100%fb all they have to do is sell a few items and if they get 3/4 negs a year later they are still back on 100%fb. Also If a buyer doesn't pay, I have to go to ebay to sort it out. I can't just say this guy has not paid. Or if someone leaves me neg for any reason i have no chance to dispute it or argue my case I have to go to ebay. It's stupid.
ahhh I could rant about this for hours, jist is ebay sucks these days.
Check out my sales I am a mac fanboy . I will honor Laffens gift of P990 flip free avartar, but I sold the p990 |

This has been talked about for months, and they started using Paypal at the start of June in the UK.
They started by sellers with a lower feedback rate having to use Paypal, then added any item electronic, phones etc. I use to get round the Paypal selling by adding all my items under ''Other'', and putting in the item description key words such as Sony, Nokia, Ipod, but sadly they stopped me doing that on the 4th. June.
I now put a heading at the top of my item page, saying Paypal accepted ONLY by a direct Paypal account OR Paypal from your bank. That way the charges are not taken. Anyone who pays via credit/debit card I cancel the auction.
I'm sure after a few months they will stop me doing that also!!!
The best bit I like about the con, is they hold you money up to 21 days OR until the buyer leaves positive feedback!!!

How rubbish i finally get my arse into gear and pay loads for jiffy bags and what not to sell some stuff lying around and now i have to use paypal. For cheap things it's ok as there is less chance of fraud but for high value items it's awful. The only thing eBay is good for is buying, absolute nightmare to sell and no support if things go wrong.

Could you not state in the item description, that despite eBay makes you accept PayPal, you as a seller will refuse it?
