Display brightness k800i vs z610i |

I've just bought a k800i with R8BF003 firmware, unbranded. Comparing the screen at 100% brightness against my old z610i at 100% brightness the difference is just too much, look at the oranizer part, the picture is much more bright and crispt on the ol z610i than the k800i. Is my phone faulty or is the normal on the k800i? Also the k800i came with a white lit/dead pixel. Any k800i owners let me know how your display brightness is compared with other models.

No k8x00 owners that can help me out? I need to know if my phone is faulty so I can still return it as it is less that 7 days old, after that I might have to send it to SE :S |

But is it the k800i's display brighter or more dim than the other one? I see a huge difference between my two phones and want to know if it's my k800i that is just not bright enough or if it's normal that the k800i screen is less bright. If i can't find and answer i will return the phone whilst i can still get my money back even tho i like the phone i can't live with this display, it sucks compared to my old display, the photo says it all.. |

Its difficult to tell in that picture because the flash is on. Generally speaking, the K800 uses a trans-reflective LCD which isn't as bright and colorful as the 'newer' LCD's SE uses, but it has the advantage of having better outdoor sun legibility, and can display a sleep mode clock.
My K800 isn't terribly bright on 100%, but its certainly bright enough for me. I usually keep it at 80%. I can't tell you if your K800 is unusually dim from a photograph - i'd have to compare it side by side with mines. |

Alright, thanks anyways. I will return the phone today, I asked for a 1-on-1 exchange but the shop said they prefer just giving me back my money, which is of course no problem for me I thought the k800i's screen was tad newer than then z610i or isn't that the cas might pick me up a w580 instead, but I don't know yet, the cam in the k800i is really nice, reminds me of the k750i phone is used to love to bits until I needed stereo blue tooth support which is the only reason I sold the k750i and got me a cheap temporally z610i, ahwell, time to go back to the shop and get a refund. |

one thing that i found out, older phones usually have higher brightness as their screens are smaller and so the backlight seems much brighter than the new bigger screen phones nowadays. e.g. W910i and W810i. but its not a fault with the phone. its just like that. a dimmer backlight saves battery too

Alright, well it is too late for this k800i now, I got my refund and will contemplate on what to do next. Might go for another model, the small W series seem good it is just their cams that let me down, most don't even have auto focus. If anyone got tips on what to buy let me know
