Hello, I have a device which is faulty, does anyone know wheather I can get my money back, none of the store credit rubbish or a replacement?

We'll need some more information. What is the item, when was it bought, do you have the receipt? If you have the receipt it should have the information on the back or just go to the HMV website and read their policy there.

Receipt is the reason I ask, just found it.
It's my Mum's iPod Nano.

Is it actually a "poor workmanship" problem or is it just broken?
If it's under a year and it's the former, providing you have the receipt, they have to refund or exchange it. EU law, isn't it?

iPOD Returns
Under exceptional circumstances iPODS in perfect condition, and with all the original packaging intact, will be considered for exchange for another item when accompanied by a Customer Advice Note and within 21 days of purchase.
Faulty iPODs and software issues must, in the first instance, be referred to the Apple support line, where an Apple trained advisor will assess the problem and arrange for repair or replacement. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Contact Apple direct on 0870 876 0753. If the fault cannot be rectified over the telephone, Apple will arrange for a third party maintenance company to either repair or replace the machine.
14 DAYS OR OVER
But still within the 12 month warranty call 0870 876 0753
MISSING ITEMS
Contact Apple direct on 0870 876 0753 Apple will ship any missing parts direct.
