Hi guys,

A quick question for you apple peoples.

Maybe a stupid question but does the iphone 3g utilise the same dock connector as a normal ipod? i.e. if i get an iphone for my girlfriends birthday will it work seamlessly with her sounddock and more importantly her audi, factory fitted glovebox installed ipod connector?

From what i can make out from the apple website etc it looks like it does but would just like confirmation.

Great photos/pics above by the way, really dramatic.

Cheers

one from me...

I've started using youtube a bit more lately and its only just struck me now that I have installed the java youtube applet on my W890 that whereas on the w890 I can log into my youtube account and see my uploaded videos and favourites etc etc, the iphone youtube app doesnt seem to have that ability... or did I miss it somewhere?

@Alpha Trion: i am not sure about the dock connectors,
but on the Audi it will work, my mates one works perfectly, playlists and album details come up, i had an issue with mine doing everything else but not charging the phone but then it wasnt an audi, so i just left my ipod in there permanently

@Massuer: i have never been able to do that either

Hiya Alpha Trion

I purchased a original iphone... and bought an ipod speaker to suit that and my ipod... this recharged both and played....

However.... I have since purchased the iphone 3g.... it still plays on the ipod speaker... however it no longer charges the iphone 3g... or too that matter the iPod Touch 2nd generation....

Thanks NoKia & Smiler, thats good to know.

A real bonus would be if the installed car ipod connector also worked as the hands free kit? guess that would be asking too much though

cheers

A quick bit of advice needed from one of you iphone experts please. I have just got a 16gb 3g iphone with 2.1 firmware and 02.11.07 baseband, i 've been looking around for info on jailbreaking and possible future unlock. It appears if i upgrade at the moment to 2.2.1 this will change the baseband and make any unlock impossible. My question is, as this is a new device and has never been jailbroken before can i use the method here :
http://www.theiphoneblog.com/[....]eak-iphone-22-mac-os-edition/. If this is not a good way of going about it id appreciate any guidance as i dont really want to end up "bricking" the device.

As always thanks in advance for any help

Music file transfer will be coming in the next update afaik. Now that would be awesome! And i know i normally would say the same, but i'm a bit out of sync this week after moving in to a new place.

Can we access the root folder using ibluetooth then? Say i wanted to send a mate a bunch on icons from a theme... can i do that?
