RAW file is the only ultimate solution for the image quality, jpeg is really terrible. I wonder if it is possible to get the RAW. You know, The famous Canon camera CHDK hack is really amazing.

Well I don't know if the K800 has the support for RAW images..

Anyway if it can be added as a patch we would need this:

- RAW extension support patch
- Chage the camera picture extension to RAW...

Anyway, It may be possible as the support for .elf files and mp4 vide recording can be added with patch...
Sony Ericsson software/hardware support!

But wouldn't you need to alter the whole software of the camera to achieve RAW file output?
I mean the MP4 support doesnt do any difference in quality, its the same as the .3gp last time i checked.

I am no engineer or programmer in any way, it just seems like a pretty huge deal to be able to patch the software to be able to handle and create a new file form.

Correct.
The patch of the mp4 video recording changes the extension of 3gp to mp4 only. Both file types have the same base form so the media players are able to play them flawlessly. Moreover, there is no change in quality.
RAW format is a whole new system of capturing an image. I don't think it's possible to code this, maybe an elf would do the work...
