I'm trying to send files to my T68 via IR. It works fine, but I'm not sure how to do. So far, I have used the "SendFile" program when sending backgrounds lager than 3 kb. Is it an easier way to do it? Can You send files via IR directly from the program "MyPictures" supplied by Ericsson? Hope you guys can help me here...
Anyway, if anyone have problems setting up IR-mate 210B in Win Me, please tell. I have finally made it!

No you can not send pictures directly from MyPictures.

I have managed to get files about 9-10 Kb uploaded via the Wireless Link program (Built in WinXP, don't know it is the same on WinME though) and with the T68 Handset Manager from Mobile Action I got a 13 Kb bmp-file uploaded.

I've tried with even larger files, but some of the picture seems to disappear in this case.

I seem to have doubts whether the T68 can really display 256 colors.. i have been using an IrDa Adapter to test different GIFs with different number of colors -all of which are around 3kb but none came close to appearing near to how it looks like on my computer.

What do you guys think(?)

The T68 has a special form of 256color-screen, it interprets the gifs in a special way. I believe 4 shades per color.

MyPictures-software interprets the images you make/download, so you can see the result on your PC, without the need to put them on your T68 first. So first to a look at your images in MyPictures. ALso most of the time, you should use 'Dither Picture' (when you import a GIF, you get some kind of picture-editor, there you can choose 'Dither Picture'. This Interploates between the different color-areas and generally provides a better result. But always test it, with dither and without.

I wouldn't go above 10KB-size, even if you can actually pull it off, I suspect it makes the T68 a bit unstable and slower.

Since I don't have a IR-port on my PC, I sync the images to my PDA (Sony Clie PalmOS-using ZboxZ) and from there I beam it to my T68. Works great, and I always have my backgrounds at hand(my PDA is stuffed with backgrounds and melodies)

The T68 can display 256 colours on screen but the reason GIF's don't look as good is because the overall colour pallete on a T68 is not that high. Your GIF may be using colours that are not amongst the ones the T68 has in its overall colour pallete.

Eg. Your picture could have 12 shades of yellow but the T68 may only have 8 shades of yellow in its pallete. I think thats the reason.

Anybody know where to find the color-palette of the T68?

Is it perhaps the colorscheme you can select in the picture-editor of MyPictures?

Yepp, it is.. After you pasted the picture, you press color dither to get in to the T68 color range.
