I bought my unlocked w810i last year and I fell in love with my first SE phone. Its held up quite well to the abuse I put it through and I haven't had any major problems. I'm content with everything about its features and its functionality. But for some reason I want new phone.

I was browsing around and saw that Amazon is selling the k790a unlocked for a reasonable price. From the reviews it was a solid phone.

Then I saw the k810i, which I liked because it was essentially the same as k790a, but with a more sleek design. The only thing is that its considered international version (I live in the US). I'm not sure how well it works with the AT&T service in the states.

So unsure whether or not I should get a new phone. Does anyone know how well the k810i works in the US?

@xang:

the only downside i think for the K810i would be its lack of EDGE (it has 3G though!) which the K790i has, and which i think is what works best in your country.. just don't know if AT&T actually supports 3G.. otherwise, you could settle for the K790i which is only cosmetically different apart from the basic difference i have mentioned earlier.. goodluck on your choice! no matter what phone you choose, you will still end up satisfied

Well if you prefer 3G get the K810 if not Get yourself K790 or K818 (the K818 is a non 3g version of K810, but has edge...) just like the K800 and K790... Or your K790 can be converted to K818 if you like it's design...

Anyway if you are not in a hurry to get new phone you may wait some time until the G900 hit the global market... Then you can get yourself this smartphone

Well, I'm not overly concerned with not getting EDGE since I don't use the internet much on my phone.

My only qualm is that the K810 is GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900, where here in the United States, it uses primarily the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1800/1900. I'm guessing the K810i wouldn't work as well in many areas of the country. If my phone isn't going to work half the time, why should I spend >$200 for it?

So why don't I just buy the K790a??
I really just like the design of the K810i, how its thinner and the camera lens doesn't bulge out.

Oh man, I'm probably better off holding on the w810i for now.
