Hi.

My P1i has been erratic for a month or two now. I think I have the latest firmware and i'm using an unlocked version with TMobile USA. Problem I have with my phone is that the internet connection disappears after a few hours and I would need to reboot my phone for it to appear again. I'm using Activesync to get my emails pushed to my phone, but after a few hours that the internet (TMobile Total Internet package) Activesync no longer works until a reboot.

The same goes with my messaging connection. My ticket system I use for my business forwards me a ticket for any trouble issue with my clients. However, after a few hours also, I get the MMS messages but is not downloaded, and the icon is a "red clock with folder". When I try to open the MMS, it tells me I need to Get or Reject the MMS, but even if I "get" it, it is not downloaded. I need to reboot my phone just to have my MMS's downloaded.

This is starting to be annoying. Anyone else experiencing this? I believe I have the latest firmware in R9K009. Anyone else using TMobile? I don't think it's the carrier though since a reboot fixes the issue.

Check your internet accounts on the P1i.
I had the same problem with MMS on O2 UK.
MMS would not work when connected through address mobile.o2.co.uk, but works perfectly through wap.o2.co.uk.
Hope this helps.

Thanks! However, looks like that didn't do the trick. I just doublechecked my MMS and INternet settings with TMobile and they are correct. I also have the exact same settings I used with my old P910i and it was working.

Also, it works fine for a couple hours so I think it might be the phone?

And even my BT is doing the same thing WHen I get in my car, the phone does not connect to my car, I would need to reboot the phone.

tried restoring phone to default....contacted tmobile and got the MMS settings as well as tzones(internet) settings...still not luck. my picture messages are stuck with headers and keeps asking me to get or reject (setting is set to automatically download all), and if I try to "get" still not getting the message....

...is it my phone that's defective? anyone else here using p1i with tmobile usa???

I have exactly the same problem, I don't think you have a defective unit, but maybe it is a bug in the new firmware as this problem appeared with me after I upgraded to the latest firmware, and it only happens when moving between GSM and 3G cell networks, I think it is a compatibility issue with the service providers. a work around that definitely worked with me is switching to only use GSM, try it and it should work if we have the same issue, the only problem is that you won't be using 3G  the main drawback to me is that while you are receiving emails or connecting to the internet your voice calls will be disabled until the data transaction idles again (the globe stops flashing).
Let me know if this works, I am living in Dubai by the way using a du network (Nokia equipment)

Main Menu --> Control Panel --> Connections --> Mobile Networks --> More --> GSM/3G Networks --> GSM only

select that then press on done twice, you will lose mobile network for a moment, I would suggest you put your phone to flight mode and getting it back online (not necessary) or even better restart it all together.

Just let us know if this work-around works for you so we know it is somekinda bug in the current release with some SPs.

cheers

Sorry to hear that bro, then you have to take it back to Sony Ericsson, I have a friend of mine who had the same issue but was not resolved with this trick, so they replaced his p1i after the second visit with no extra charge with a new one! provided it is still under warrantee ofcourse! good luck with that!

Cheers
