hi this is my 1st post so dunno if this is the best place to put it or not,i recently bought a used k850i and was happy with my phone till i seen someone elses k850 and it was only then that i realised that my backlight on my keypad wasnt lightling up at all,the buttons press fine and the touch buttons are fine but just no light i was wondering would this be a firmware issue or a hardware issue as i opened the phone up and noticed a small black mark on the connector on the keyboard membrane any help would be appreciated cheers

probably a hardware issue.

thats what i was thinking cheers for your quick reply so would u think it wud be just a matter of changing the keypad membrane or do u think the damage could be more unrepairable

sorry wat i mean is would i have to change the keypad board to have my lights working again or would it be a more serious problem to do with the main k850i board

Not sure, best off to take it you a near by service center.
Because sometimes the problems can be complicated. It might not be anything to do with the keypad board , it might be an IC or something.

no probs mite order a new keypad board 2 try it as they r not 2 dear and if that does not work i will take it 2 a service center ill keep yous updated on how it goes anyway thanks again
