Hi

I have just got a O2-UK Branded K850i which I want to update through SEUS, however, I get as far as the "Remove battery", "Hold C, and insert USB Cable" etc.

When the phone is recognised by the computer (Bubble comes up about new hardware), my computer just completely locks up!!

Anyone experienced this before? Any ideas as to what I can do to try and fix it?

My current software is R1EA031.

Could it be because I have a DCU-65 cable and not a DCU-60.

Is it possible I could have older drivers installed from my previous phone (K810i) that could be conflicting?

Thanks for any help.

Hey there,

From what i've read you could do this ;

1. Update your usb drivers (the PC drivers, not the phone)
2. Remove your old K810i drivers and also the K850 if there are any, and do a fresh install of it.
3. Try it with the same cable on another computer, or with a different cable on the same pc..

1. I cannot find any trace of any original USB drivers in my computer, so I am unsure how I can re-install the new drivers?

2. Same as point 1.

3. I have tried it on my desktop PC (which is a fresh install of WindowsXP SP2), however, when I reconnect the USB cable while holding C, it just goes to USB Mass Storage Mode, no SEMC Flash Device reported on computer screen?

Thanks for the reply.

Your computer should have come with a driver-cd, including USB drivers, if not; google your pc model and download (if available) any new ones.

Right-click 'My computer' > Properties > tab : hardware > device manager > your phone should be there, if there are faulty drivers they will have a '!'-mark next to it. When you found the driver, rightclick it and uninstall.
